Rare Wild Orchids:
How to Photograph them Perfectly!

Rare Wild Orchids of the Canadian Prairie and Boreal Forest – Digital Photo Field Trips

These creative educational Photography field trips provide some of the most emotive moments in the lives of photographers and nature lovers alike! If you’ve never seen a native Manitoba orchid you have not experienced 100% of your emotional range! AND because of their rarity and scarcity you may never have the opportunity to view and shoot them more than once.*

And may I remind you (smile) that these aren't puny or microscopic pale imitations of their tropical cousins. Some of North America's most extraordinary wild orchids are found right here in Manitoba!

Join us on a "native to Manitoba" rare wild orchid excursion to experience and photograph nature’s most mysterious of plant families, in their secret locations that only a select few ever get to know.

Late May 2008 – Brokenhead Wetlands & Belair Forest $45.00
Dragon’s Mouth Orchid, Moccasin Flower, and many other orchids.

Late June 2008 – Agassiz Forest MB $45.00
Rose Pegonia, Tall Leafy Green Orchid, Loesel’s Twayblade, Wood lilies and more.

Early July 2008 – Secret Locations Around the Trans Canada East $45.00

The Fine Print

Skill level needed: Intermediate beginner to Pro.You should know how to use your camera very well, including manual overrides on your point & shoot; and understand concepts like depth of field, field of view, and basic composition. You should be in good physical condition and over 18 years of age.

We will send you a registration package with allthe details including a liability waiver which you must sign and return to us by mail or fax prior to the trip, or bring it to the technical seminar. There is plenty of walking involved as many of the sites are well off the roadways, so please use your best judgment as to whether you are able to participate depending on the degree of difficulty walking.

Mother Nature can be fickle so we do not make any guarantees that you will see every plant mentioned, in bloom; but we do guarantee you’ll improve your techniques for photographing plants and micro-landscapes; and you’ll have an interesting and informative hike with wonderful like-minded people.

Bring your own lunch; we provide water, soft drinks and energy bars. A complete list of things needed will be included in your registration package.

You must be at least 16 years old AND accompanied by a parent or guardian, or 18 and over to participate in this field trip.

Refunds will be made up to 21 days prior to the event, less Paypal’s fees. No refunds for cancellations or for no-shows after that date. If for any reason we have to cancel any trip we will refund 100% of your fees.
