Use your Photographs to make more money
with Post Card Marketing

Post card marketing is making huge comeback! Yes, with the insane amounts of e-mail people get today, e- communications are far too simplistic, and often thought-less.

But with your amazing photos, you can create the most though provoking communication items of all time, using little known post card marketing techniques. And astound your contacts with your creative talents at the same time, by creating postcards from your photos.

Why keep your photographs hidden in an album somewhere, or buried on your hard drive? It's time to show them off a little! Your beautiful image on a postcard – and handwriting on paper, (when you can’t make a mistake), when you have to be brief and pithy; and when you send a delightful image to someone, well thought out, with care and feeling - is REAL communication.

The photo post card is a tangible expression of your sincere message.

And that’s why postcards from your photographs and post card marketing are making a huge comeback! Your message is short and to the point (no one has time to read long text these days); it’s quick to write (longer to compose perhaps – as Mark Twian once said “I didn’t have time to write a short note, so I wrote a long one instead;”) and the power of that image can instantly drive an emotional jolt directly to the heart and brain of your recipient.

People love getting post cards, it’s so personal.

I love postcards! But not the cheesy tourist kind you find in swag laden shops on Main Street, Attraction Ville; but the artistic, creative postcards that send a heartfelt message with a simple graceful photograph on one side and a punchy message on the other.

Whether for friendship, thanks, client contact, an invitation, a reminder, I think post card marketing is the creative, economical and versatile way for you to say something special.

My friend Ian collects them. Some are from friends, some are the artsy funky kind you get for free in some of the cooler restaurants and clubs in the bigger cities in North America; while other are ones he’s found in galleries or on the street, from craft vendors. He’s got quite a remarkable collection. He’s even thinking of putting a few on eBay to see what they are worth.

I’ve taken to designing postcards for my own work, since I have all the photographic “raw materials” close at hand.

Here’s how I make my own and use post card marketing principles to keep in touch with the people I care about, people I need to stay close to, and people I just want to thank.

Postcards – the cheap and highly effective but untapped resource of many photographers. Try it. You’ve got the amazing photographs, why not put them to use? It’s a great way to share your inspiration.

Here’s how to get started on a post card marketing campaign with your photos.
